iBreath
Non-Medical Oral Trainer for Closed-Mouth Nasal-Breathing Practice
A simple oral training aid designed to reinforce nasal-breathing habits and a tongue-up resting posture.
Somnics iBreath is a non-medical oral training aid intended to help users practice closed-mouth nasal breathing and a tongue-up resting posture. The device is placed in the mouth and a swallow creates gentle self-suction, producing negative pressure that helps draw the tongue toward the palate. Repeated practice is intended to build awareness of oral posture and nasal-breathing habits.
The product uses an oral-interface concept related to Somnics’ airway work, but iBreath is not the iNAP One therapy system and should not be marketed as a treatment for obstructive sleep apnea or snoring. Searches for mouth breathing at night, nasal breathing sleep, or tongue posture can point to habit, anatomy, allergy, or sleep-disordered breathing concerns. A training aid cannot determine the cause. Persistent snoring, chronic nasal obstruction, witnessed apneas, excessive daytime sleepiness, or other concerning symptoms should prompt evaluation by an appropriate healthcare professional.
